End of Year Giving – Several Easy Ways to Give
If you are interested in making a tax-deductible gift or fulfilling a pledge before the end of the 2021 tax year, there are several easy and convenient methods for end of year giving.
End of Year Giving Options
You can mail your gift to:
Attn: Philanthropy Department
11311 McCormick Road, Suite 350
Hunt Valley, MD 21031
Please note: Checks should be made payable to Gilchrist and postmarked by December 31, 2021.
You can designate your gift to a specific center or program by making note on the memo line of your check.
You can make your gift online. Gifts should be made by 11:59 p.m. EST on December 31, 2021, to count for this tax year.
IRA Charitable Rollover
A special opportunity for those 70½ years old and older, you can give up to $100,000 per year from your IRA directly to Gilchrist without having to pay income taxes. This is commonly called an IRA charitable rollover, but you may also see it referred to as a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD for short.
Donor Advised Fund
If you have a donor advised fund with any third-party provider, you can make a distribution to Gilchrist by listing us as a final beneficiary.
Did you know the CARES Act was extended for 2021? This allows for a tax deduction benefit for 2021 charitable contributions up to $300 for an individual and $600 for married couples who file joint returns, regardless of whether you itemize. Gilchrist will provide a charitable gift receipt for your tax records.
