Taste is coming to you…VIRTUALLY!
During the COVID-19 crisis, Gilchrist continues to play a vital role in Howard County, as the number of area residents receiving hospice and elder medical care services is at an all-time high. We face a unique set of challenges with visitation restrictions and requirements to keep our staff and patients safe, which has put additional financial burdens on the organization.
As we look ahead to our largest annual fundraiser—The Taste of Howard County—community support is more important now than ever before. However, due to current restrictions, we must reimagine Taste in a new and unique way this October. The Taste Committee is working hard to bring you a virtual celebration to remember!
We hope you will join us on October 18, 2020, in celebrating Gilchrist from the comforts of your home. Experience behind-the-scenes culinary magic from some of Howard County’s best dining spots, including 18th & 21st, Alexandra’s, The Turn House, Touché Touchet Bakery & Café, and more!
At 5 p.m., you can participate in an at-home wine tasting experience hosted by Joe Barbera of AIDA Bistro. This VIP experience serves up to 4 people and costs $150. At 6 p.m., join us for the main event with just one click. General admission to watch the Taste of Howard County is free, but advance registration is required. You can also browse silent auction items and buy raffle tickets. All of this is available by visiting www.GilchristTaste.givesmart.com.
We are incredibly fortunate to have Gilchrist in our community. Its specialized programs add quality of life to all who encounter the organization, including your family, friends, employees and customers. In addition to providing care in patients’ homes and residential care facilities, Gilchrist offers the only inpatient hospice and respite program in the county, and as a nonprofit, accepts every patient regardless of ability to pay. Over 5,000 county residents are served by Gilchrist each year.
Taste is Gilchrist Center Howard County’s primary source of philanthropic support. It enables uninsured patients to receive care, as well as many complementary services. By supporting this year’s 35th annual Taste of Howard County, you’re ensuring these services remain available to all who need them.
We look forward to “seeing” you on October 18, 2020, as the community comes together to celebrate Gilchrist!
