Why Should You Give to The Lifecare Institute?
Your donations to Gilchrist make a meaningful difference in the lives of people with serious illness and the families who care for them.
The Luminis Health Gilchrist Lifecare Institute is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization. Because insurance does not cover the full cost of patient care, and because we accept every patient, regardless of ability to pay–we rely on generous contributions to help bridge the gap. We depend on community support to provide the high-quality care that every seriously ill person deserves.
Your donations to The Lifecare Institute make a critical difference in the lives of people with serious illness, as well as their families.
When you give to The Lifecare Institute, you help provide expert and loving care at every stage of serious illness. You allow us to be there with counseling and support for families and to advance excellence in hospice and palliative care programs and services throughout Anne Arundel and Prince George’s County communities.

Memorial Gifts
By making a tax-deductible Memorial Gift, you are honoring a person through the action of helping others.

The Lifecare Institute will notify the primary contact we have on file that that a memorial gift has been made, but we do not disclose the gift amount.
Gift of Gratitude
When words don’t seem like enough, a Gift of Gratitude allows you to thank a Lifecare Institute staff member who went above and beyond, by making a donation in his or her name. While we created this program for grateful patients and families, anyone can make a Gift of Gratitude in honor of someone who works at The Lifecare Institute.
You can honor anyone at The Lifecare Institute, including (but not limited to) a nurse, hospice aide, doctor, social worker, chaplain, music therapist, volunteer or other caregiver. You can even honor your whole caregiving team.
Your words of thanks are shared with them in a printed message and are genuinely treasured by our staff.
When you make a Gift of Gratitude, you help future patients receive the same level of exceptional care.
Planned Giving
By including The Lifecare Institute in your will, trust, or beneficiary designation, you can help ensure that compassionate, expert care is available to patients and families today and for years to come. A bequest is one of the most meaningful and flexible ways to create a lasting legacy of care for others during one of life’s most vulnerable moments.
An IRA Charitable Rollover allows individuals age 70½ and older to make a tax-efficient gift directly from their Individual Retirement Account (IRA), potentially reducing taxable income. Many supporters also choose to direct their Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) to The Lifecare Institute as a simple way to make a powerful impact.
If you have a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) through a third-party provider, you may recommend a grant to The Lifecare Institute to support our mission and make an immediate difference. When submitting a grant recommendation, please include our taxpayer identification number (EIN): 52-1851251.

This donation will appear on your credit card statement as Gilchrist. The Luminis Health Gilchrist Lifecare Institute has partnered with Blackbaud Merchant Services to securely process online contributions.
Is my donation secure?
All information collected by Blackbaud Merchant Services is securely processed and stored. We take many measures to protect the confidentiality and security of your information. We use encryption technology to ensure the safe transmission and storage of your information. Your personal information and donation amount is shared with The Luminis Health Gilchrist Lifecare Institute, but no information is shared with third parties by selling, giving, trading or any other method. Users of this site will not receive unsolicited contact from third parties.
Is my donation tax deductible?
