We are experts in
Care and Support at Every Stage of Serious Illness
Geriatric
Care
A specialized field of medicine dedicated to the comprehensive health care needs of older adults. Our interdisciplinary approach addresses the unique physical, psychological, social, and functional needs of aging individuals, aimed at enhancing their quality of life, maintaining their independence, and ensuring optimal health outcomes.
Palliative Care
Focused on providing relief from the uncomfortable symptoms, like pain, nausea, and even stress, often associated with serious illnesses, regardless of the diagnosis or stage of the disease. Our program helps patients and families understand treatment options and make informed decisions that align with their values and goals. It enhances the quality of life for our patients and supports their families.
Hospice
Care
For individuals who are in the final stages of an advanced illness, focusing on comfort, dignity, and quality of life. Hospice provides comprehensive support to patients and their families, addressing physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. It alleviates pain and other distressing symptoms through medications, therapies, and holistic approaches, and ensures continuous support with medical staff available around the clock for emergent needs.
We Are More Than Hospice
You may know Gilchrist best for the care we provide people near the end of life. But we offer so much more than hospice. Today’s Gilchrist extends services to individuals with serious illness who need our care and support well in advance of hospice care. We also provide counseling and support before and after the loss of a loved one.
Why Choose Gilchrist?
Taste of Howard County 2024
The 39th annual Taste was a rockin’ and rollin’ good time! All proceeds benefit Gilchrist Center Howard County, the only inpatient hospice center in the county.
Thank you to the attendees, sponsors, local restaurants, and auction donors, who make this event possible. We can’t wait to see you for the 40th anniversary event on October 26, 2025.
