Steps of Hope: Walking Together in Memory and Healing
At Gilchrist, we believe that honoring the memory of loved ones is a powerful step toward healing. On Sunday, June 1, 2025, we invite you to join us for Gilchrist’s 10th annual Steps of Hope, a special memorial walk to celebrate and remember those we hold close to our hearts.
This event is made possible thanks to the generous support of the dedicated grief counselors at Gilchrist, Cromwell Valley Park Council, Inc., and Evans Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services.
Held at the picturesque Cromwell Valley Park in Baltimore County, this family-friendly event brings together individuals and families who have experienced the loss of someone dear. Whether you are walking in memory of a spouse, parent, child, sibling, or friend, Steps of Hope offers a space for reflection, support, and community.
Steps of Hope is more than just a walk—it’s a celebration of life and a tribute to the connections that endure beyond loss. Over the years, former support group members have reunited at the event and walked together, and some families have worn t-shirts designed to honor their loved ones. The event also offers a space to learn about nature’s power to support emotional healing and build community, even across distances, as we take our “steps of hope” together. After the walk, participants come together for a meaningful closing ritual and ceremony, honoring the loved ones being remembered that day.
