May 6 through May 12 is National Nurses Week. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Gilchrist is grateful for our brave nurses now more than ever.

Our nurses deliver vital services to the seriously ill and their families all year long. But now with the added challenge of battling the coronavirus, our nurses have risen to the challenge and are facing the crisis head-on.

Each day, our nurses make personal sacrifices to care for the sick and comfort the dying. They don their protective equipment and visit the most vulnerable. They provide medical care and compassionate support during a time of isolation. And they do everything possible to keep our communities safe.

These trusted professionals make a difference in countless lives. They are dedicated, resilient and courageous. They enrich our lives and make the world a better place. In short, they are our heroes.
