Spring Jazz Brunch
Ted Blankenship, Development Director – Gilchrist Center Baltimore

Enjoy a delicious brunch and relaxing jazz music against the backdrop of breathtaking views—all while supporting Gilchrist Center Baltimore. What a great way to spend a Sunday morning! I hope you will join us at Gilchrist’s Spring Jazz Brunch on Sunday, April 8, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park Museum in Fell’s Point.

This brunch supports Gilchrist Center Baltimore and the work we do in Baltimore City to provide compassionate hospice care to some of the city’s most vulnerable residents—many of whom are homeless, poor and medically underserved.

For over 30 years, Gilchrist Center Baltimore (formerly known as the Joseph Richey House) has cared for thousands of people at the end of their lives in a warm, home-like environment. And since our mission is to provide care to anyone in need, regardless of their ability to pay, Gilchrist Center Baltimore provides over $1 million in care each year that is not reimbursed.

Events like the Spring Jazz Brunch help us to fulfill our mission. There’s so much to enjoy and appreciate at the brunch:

Explore the Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park Museum
This important historical museum is a “national heritage site that celebrates the contributions of African Americans in the development of Baltimore’s Maritime Industry.” The city and harbor views from the dining room are beautiful! Learn more

Enjoy Live Music by The Ian Sims Jazz Quintet
Ian Sims is the co-director of the Peabody’s Jazz Performance Academy and a regular performer in Baltimore and Washington D.C., and along the East Coast. He and his quintet will entertain us throughout the morning. Learn more

Dine On Delicious Food from Absolutely Perfect Catering
One of the most popular caterers in the Baltimore area, Absolutely Perfect will cater the brunch. Enjoy mimosas, Bloody Marys and other drinks while feasting on waffles, fresh fruit, pastries, breakfast and lunch meats, and more. We are most grateful to Absolutely Perfect for donating the food for our brunch. Learn more
