Gilchrist’s Social Work Training Institute (SWTI) offers a series of seminars to enhance the skills, knowledge and competencies for social workers in our healthcare community. The SWTI is approved to offer continuing education units (CEUs) by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners.

Key features of this seminar series include:
- Seminars range in length from one hour to three hours or longer depending on the subject and the presenter(s).
- Seminars are virtual.
- Each seminar has clearly stated learning objectives.
- Seminars are designed to be interactive through questions, discussions, and activities.
- Seminars are planned and scheduled months in advance.
- Seminar presenters must complete and submit the Seminar Proposal Form before their seminar is scheduled.
Seminar presenters must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Social Work from an accredited program, or an advanced degree in a discipline that frequently collaborates with social workers, or demonstrated expertise in a related subject area.
- Demonstrates an understanding of adult learning styles and can incorporate appropriate teaching and training techniques into a presentation.
- Demonstrates an expertise in the specific topic or subject area.
- Familiarity with continuing education target audience.

Gilchrist offers CEU seminars through our Gilchrist Social Work Training Institute (GSWTI). We are a Board Authorized Sponsor through the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners, ensuring that our continuing education programs adhere to the criteria set by the Board.

Evaluation and Certification Process:
Post Session Evaluation: At the conclusion of each training session, you will receive a QR code to the evaluation. Please complete the evaluation within 24 hours of the session. QR codes will only be issued at the end of each session and cannot be provided after the session is over. CEU Certificates will be issued within seven days of your attendance at a training session.

- Timeliness Training sessions will begin promptly. A 5-minute grace period is allowed; however, participants arriving after this time will not be permitted to join. This policy helps maintain a respectful and uninterrupted learning environment.
- Classroom Etiquette Treat this webinar as you would an in-person course. Active participation, focused attention, and professional behavior are expected throughout the session.
- Participant Identification Ensure your full name is displayed on your Zoom profile to allow proper identification.
- Camera Requirement Your camera must remain on, and your face be visible throughout the session to confirm attendance and engagement.
- Engagement Active participation is encouraged to enhance the learning experience for all attendees.
