Gilchrist Honors Veterans on Veterans Day and Every Day of the Year
As the nation honors American heroes for their military service on Veterans Day, November 11, Gilchrist staff and volunteers will celebrate with area residential care facility residents by screening a special Veterans Day video honoring all veterans.
Over the past few years, Gilchrist has held in-person Veterans Day events at residential care centers throughout the region. Due to COVID-19 safety precautions, this year’s celebration will be virtual.
The Veterans Day video will feature local veterans sharing what their military service has meant to them, along with a special message from Gilchrist President Cathy Hamel and Gilchrist’s We Honor Veterans Task Force.
Although we will miss being there in-person this year, we will be there in spirit and hope the video will show our desire to honor all veterans on this Veterans Day.
We want veterans to know we are grateful to them for bravely serving our country. They have made profound sacrifices in defense of freedom, and they deserve our heartfelt thanks and appreciation.
Honoring veterans isn’t just a once-a-year activity for Gilchrist. We serve the veterans in our care and in our community every day. As a We Honor Veterans partner, Gilchrist provides recognition and veteran-centric care to military veterans facing serious illness throughout the year. Some of our veteran-specific initiatives include the Vet-to-Vet Volunteer Program, Vet-to Vet-Cafes, Salute to Service Tributes, the Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day Celebration and Operation Gratitude.
To all of our nation’s veterans, Gilchrist extends our deepest gratitude for your service. Watch the video below:
