In 1994, a transformative philanthropic gift established Gilchrist. In 2024, we commemorate this incredible act of generosity and 30 years of providing serious illness and end of life care to the community. This year’s Gilchrist Ball will celebrate this important milestone and the commitment of so many who helped make Gilchrist what it is today.

The Gilchrist Bash

The Gilchrist Ball may be sold out, but NEW THIS YEAR, join us for The Gilchrist Bash from 8:30 PM – midnight at the Grand Lodge of Maryland in Hunt Valley! Enjoy drinks, desserts, and dancing with live music by Millennium. Attire is black-tie optional, so dress to impress!

Welcome Home Celebration

Gilchrist’s Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day celebration honors the veterans in our care as well as all of the veterans in our community and coincides with Maryland’s Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day. This celebration is one of the many ways Gilchrist recognizes the unique needs of veterans and thanks them for their sacrifice and service to our country. We are proud to honor those who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a class series that supports caregivers in taking care of yourself while caring for someone else. By taking care of your own health and well-being, you become a better caregiver. Whether you provide care for a spouse, partner, parent, or friend, at home or in a care facility, whether down the block or miles away, yours is an important role. This course is for caregivers like you!

Gilchrist offers a wide variety of events throughout the year for families, supporters and our community. Some of these include signature events like the Gilchrist Ball, and Taste of Howard County. Likewise, we also offer the following remembrance events: Steps of Hope, Twilight: An Evening of Remembrance, and Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day Celebration. Many of our events are possible only because of the support we receive from our event committees, corporate and individual sponsors, dedicated volunteers and our generous attendees.
